Today in another segment of Bring it back, we take a look at a model that MJ won his first championship in, the Air Jordan 6. Although this isn't the colorway Michael won the 1991 championship in, it was still around at the time as an OG colorway and took on the name Air Jordan 6 "Sport Royal", due to the wonderfully blocked blue all over the sneaker. This is one of the first Jordan sneakers to ever feature a color other than black, white, red or grey.
The one and only release of these beauties, had these sneakers covered in premium pale white leather. The part that really set these apart from the pack was the sport royal that entertained the entire midsole, part of the pull tab and of course the Jumpman. With all of that goodness placed on an icy sole this sneaker was perfect, unfortunately we haven't seen them hit shelves since '91.
With next year, 2014, being the 23rd anniversary of the Jordan 6, we will be seeing an array of those models, and these could be one of them. We can only hope that Jordan brand decides to bring these back and maybe with an icy blue outsole, which would be stunning! No official word if they will be coming back next year, but if something comes up, we will let you know! Stay tuned for next Thursday's edition of, "Bring it back!"
